The Outdoor Recreation Coordinator, Jim Williams, is certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aide and CPR, Small Craft Safety for Canoes and Basic Water Rescue, is certified as a Wilderness First Responder, and is an American Canoe Association Canoe Instructor with training in Adaptive Paddling.

Our eligibility guidelines indicate a participant needs to be 18 years old or have the permission from their parent or guardian.

We hope to get each participant out 2-3 times a season, this will be in addition to individual and group orientations and an in the water practice.

Not necessarily. Personal Floatation Devices ( PFDs) will be worn in and around water at all times, but participants should know how to float with a PFD and know how to hold their breath for a short period of time while in the water.
