Reimbursement Voucher Subsidy

This program offers a family or individual a yearly amount ($300 in 2014) of funds to spend on themselves for goods and services that are not covered by Medicaid. Funds allow families to purchase goods and services that will enhance skills of the individual, improve the home environment, and help develop the cognitive and physical needs of the family member with disabilities. Some families use the funds to hire a respite worker for a much needed break from providing the intense care that is required of individuals with developmental disabilities. To obtain this service you must:

NYS Elks Home Service Program

NYS Elks Home Service Program - A case manager can be available to assist individuals in short-term linkage and referral to services available in their communities. To qualify for Home Service Director assistance, a person would have similar needs as someone with a developmental disability.


The Home Service Director position is supported by annual contributions and fundraising by the NYS Elks and their Major Projects Program. It is due to their support that the Home Service Director can offer individuals and families timely assistance.

Cerebral Palsy Association of the North Country offers "Kids On the Block" and "Making Friends" presentations to kindergarten and 3rd/4th graders throughout schools in 6 counties. These FREE shows provide public education to children to help them learn to understand and accept people with developmental disabilities.
